Immediate management for a second degree ankle sprain- soft tissue Injury has occurred from surfing
The best way to approach a sprained ankle is by responding to the injury immediately. If you were to suffer a sprained ankle during a surfing session, these approaches would best be suited. Management requires the application of principles such as 'R.I.C.E.R' and 'NO HARM' for the next 48 to 72 hours after the injury has occurred. Applying these principles will reduce bleeding and damage within the joint as well as reducing scar tissue. Taking immediate action and applying these solutions to your injured ankle will allow you to get back in the water more quickly and prevent future ankle injuries. See below on how to apply R.I.C.E.R and NO HARM to your injured ankle.
